DAS Dover Playlist and Schedule
In general, our meetings include gaming, anime viewing, panels/activities, and raffles.
Anime is either a 'fixed pick' wherein members have voted to watch all of a series (~2 episodes per meeting) or 'random pick' where members bring their licensed or non-bootleg anime to the meeting and vote on what to watch.
The result is we virtually have a different playlist each month!
As members of
Funimation's Operation Anime,
ADV's Advocates,
Central Park Media's Anime University,
RightStuf, and other programs, we can request and receive all the newest releases from these companies to view for free each month.

Nana, a wildly popular shoujo manga (which is currently being serialized in Shojo Beat magazine here in the U.S.) is a rock and roll tale of two young women, both named Nana, who meet on a train bound for Tokyo. The ultra-stylish and chic Nana K. is on her way to join her boyfriend, while punk rocker Nana O. has her sights on making it big in the music biz. The song "Glamorous Sky" that Nana O.'s band performs during their big club debut scene was written by Hyde and Nana creator Yazawa Ai.
Death Note, for those who may not know, is about a young man named Light Yagami who finds a mysterious notebook with the power to kill those whose names are written in it. Its a cat and mouse game between Light, the police, and a mysterious person known only as "L" when the bodies start stacking up. The film is a bit different from the manga. The twist at the end caught me by surprise.
Cutey Honey, created by Go Nagai, is the story of Honey Kisaragi, the daughter of a murdered scientist, who has been entrusted with something called the I-System which allows Honey to become anyone she wants to. The system also gives her unique super-hero-like powers of her own which she uses to battle a secret organization called "Panther Claw". She also gets some help from a by-the-book female police detective and a slacker "journalist" who seems to know way to much about both Honey and Panther Claw. Be forewarned, this is very campy with special effects along the lines of Power Rangers.
Shinobi: Heart Under Blade is essentially a live action version of the the manga/anime Basilisk. Representatives from two fueding ninja clans, the Kouga and the Inga, fight one another to the death to determine the succession of the Tokugawa Shogunate with each side representing one of the claimants. Adding a Romeo and Juliet-like twist, the respective heirs of each clan have fallen in love with one another and must battle within themselves to either fight the one they love, or let their "families" die. Lots of high flying martial arts action.
