Jrock and the DAS CEO at the Halloween Party/Minicon 2004

1. Name: Joe G. AKA J-Rock

2. DAS Position/Role: DAS Wilmington President

3. Location: Wilmington, DE

4. What are your favorite animes, music, and Asian Cinema?:
Anime: L/R: Licensed by Royalty, Golden Boy, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic series, Macross, Ranma 1/2, Cowboy Bebop and too many others
Manga: Harlem Beat series, Slam Dunk, City Hunter, Golden Boy, Full Metal Panic Series, Ranma 1/2, Boys Be, and too many others.
Asian Cinema: The prerequisities. Nearly anything starring Jackie Chan, Fist of Legend, Shaolin Soccer, In The Mood for Love, Battle Royale, and too many others.

5. Hobbies outside of Anime?: I love to cook. It's a Great stress reliever. I love reading, collecting music (Through physical media, or downloaded MP3s), writing, walking, and sleeping.

6 What do you like best about the DAS?: I love the fact that there is three chapters. And the fact that the leaders talk to each other constantly. The close camaraderie between each other is family like to the point when we joke at each other everytime we meet. That's something that's rare to any clubs.

7: What do you think the future holds for the DAS?I predict that more people will learn about the > DAS on a worldwide scale, and I'm crossing my fingers for more people to attend the North branch meetings!

8. Do you cosplay? If so what are your favorite costumes?
No, not a cosplayer.

9. Conventions staffed/attended: Otakon 2003-2005, Kosaikon Spring 2005, Zentrancon 2005 (Staff)

11. What theme or institution in anime should be decreased or increased and why? : One thing that needs to be increased is the diversity between characters. It's obvious that the anime producers know that anime is not restricted to Japan, China, and Korea anymore. Peoples of all shapes, sizes, races, creeds, and colors watch it on a regular basis. It would be nice to see people of color of anime, Not to mention Asian characters that looked, well, Asian (No more blonde haired blue eyed characters named Takagi, or Michiku).
One thing that needs to be decreased is Harem anime. Mainly like First Person Shooters, it's been done to death with very little originality to tell them apart.
